Job Description
The Virginia Tech School of Communication invites applications for a twoyear nontenuretrack appointment for fulltime instructor to begin August 2025. The new faculty member will be expected to teach advertising courses which could include Advertising Copywriting and Brand Storytelling Account Planning and Media Buying Ethics and Social Responsibility in Advertising and Advertising Campaigns as well as other courses relevant to the instructors area of expertise. The faculty member will teach four classes per semester.
*This position is eligible for renewal based on the need by the university for the scope and level of services being provided and available funding.
Required Qualifications
Masters degree in advertising or related field (e.g. communication public relations IMC marketing etc..
Demonstration of extensive professional advertising industry expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
Significant fulltime professional experience in an advertising agency or clientside role.
Advertising account planning/management experience
Advertising copywriting experience
Collegelevel teaching experience
Experience in public relations integrated communication IMC and/or a related field
Advertising agency account management strategy media planning and buying analytics or copywriting experience.
