Job Title: Director Business Development Lead Launched Effects

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development leader to join our Advanced Development Group business division focusing on expanding our footprint in the launched effects weapons market. The ideal candidate is a servant leader who excels at interfacing with DoD customers building strong relationships and leveraging these connections to foster new business opportunities. This role is crucial for developing and nurturing strategic relationships with DoD customers with a focus on delivering capabilities for launched effects systems. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert with a comprehensive understanding of Air Force weapons and/or Army and USMC launched effects initiatives with a strong track record in securing highvalue contracts. This position requires onsite work at either our Ashburn VA or Plano TX offices.

Essential Functions:

  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with DoD stakeholders understanding their needs and aligning our offerings to their strategic objectives.
  • Lead the pursuit of new business opportunities within the ground combat and autonomous systems domain guiding capture teams through the entire acquisition cycle from opportunity identification to contract award.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for DoD customers ensuring their requirements are met and that L3Harris is positioned as a preferred partner.
  • Conduct indepth market analysis to identify and develop new business opportunities including followon and adjacent market prospects.
  • Collaborate with program management engineering and other functional teams to develop tailored solutions that address the unique challenges of ground combat and autonomous systems.
  • Expand our market presence through tailored business development strategies staying informed on Army market trends competitive landscapes and emerging opportunities.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning sessions workshops and reviews (e.g. Black Hat Blue Team Price to Win) to refine win strategies and competitive positioning.
  • Negotiate teaming agreements and form strategic alliances to enhance our market position.
  • Evaluate new technologies while staying current on industry trends through a warfighter perspective.
  • Translate complex technical information into compelling value propositions for customer engagement and communication.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement acting as a change agent to implement new strategies and technologies that enhance business development efforts.
  • Support the business rhythm through regular reporting and updates maintaining a clear view of progress and challenges.
  • Establish relationships within the Air Force Army and USMC organizations within acquisitions requirements and contracting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 12 years of related experience in defense government or relevant industry sectors orGraduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • TOP SECRET Clearance

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead a team as a servant leader with an authentic passion to coach mentor and care for people.
  • Previous operational aviation experience in Apache or Cobra helicopters and/or experience in acquisitions within the Launched Effects or similar portfolio.
  • Senior Military Officer (O5 or above) and/or 5 years of Business Development experience in industry working DoD aerial weapons.
  • Strong understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and other Transaction Authority (OTA) contracting mechanisms.
  • At least five years of experience in developing and implementing solutions for complex challenges within the DoD.
  • TOP SECRET Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet business objectives and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade at all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to translate customer technical requirements into actionable solutions using our technologies and services.
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining customer relationships particularly with the USAF US Army or USMC.
  • Indepth knowledge of combat aviation weapons launched effects and associated technologies.
