Job Description:
Looking for a Material Planner to help plan order and monitor material. This is a material planning position with responsibilities for scheduling and forecasting the right volumes of materials goods and products inbound to the business from supply chain. This role contains functions that are necessary formanaging the flow of inventory and able to deliver efficient effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. Selected candidate will workfrom engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. They will advise management of the status of work in progress coordinate with manufacturing quality and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers. Ensure availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions. planning and project and Work Center schedule . Minimal supervision of daily activities will be required with independent judgment relative to work activities expected.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule the supply of materials to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
- Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
- Check MRP action messages daily and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
- Dayto day order management and management of deliveries.
- Understand and manage risk to minimize impact to production schedule
- Take follow up actions in relations to material shortages that affect production
- Monitor the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Proficient with industry software such as Microsoft Project and other MRP and ERP systems. Preferably SAP.
- Work consists of making moderate to substantial improvement or enhancements to systems and processes to improve performance of job area
- Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are complex and may require comprehensive information gathering analysis and investigation to understand the problem.
Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge of material ordering supply chain and inventory.
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience.
- Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- In lieu of a degree minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
- Must understand ERP Manufacturing Planning Systems ideally SAP.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience and understanding of requirements in the requisitioning purchasing stocking control and issuance of inventory.
- Capable of generating complex spreadsheets and reports utilizing: Excel PowerPoint and other Microsoft software.
- Previous experience of material planning ideally in defense.
- Knowledge of lean techniques may be advantageous
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in Maryland is $68500 $127000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
