PRN (on a perneeded basis) Days or Nights 7am7pm or 7pm7am shifts
Minimum requirement for PRN is 36hours every 6week period (three 12 hour shifts)
**Care Companions will function as sitters to include performing patient care and addressing hygiene needs. Must be open to learning to toilet deliver hygiene care (bathing) feed patients wear PPE and take care of patients with isolation precautions.**
Job Summary:
A Care Companion provides basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. As part of our team the Care Companion is responsible for sanitizing and cleaning patients rooms monitoring patients health and vital signs as well as assisting patients with basic needs like feeding and grooming.
Essential Functions:
Providessupport to the patient including but not limited to care and comfortpersonal care and hygiene toileting and mobility.
Creates a safe environment for patients.
Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
Provides highlevel customer service to all patients patients family visitors and all employees.
Participates in handoff/report of pertinent information regarding patient and departmental needs upon arrival and when leaving.
Education:
- None
Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (preferred upon hire must obtain from the approved source prior to direct patient care)
Experience:
- Recent experience in a healthcare environment (preferred not required)
Skills & Abilities:
- Possesses problemsolving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
- Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment
