Overview:
As a Denturist with Permanente Dental Associates you will provide competent highquality prosthetic appliances to members that are aesthetically phonetically and technically acceptable to the patient and PDA Peer Review. In this role you will:
- Provide aesthetic care to Kaiser Permanente Dental Care Plan (KPDCP) members within the Oregon and Washington State(s) Dental Board rules and regulations and within KPDCP guidelines.
- Consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment regarding clinical aspects of prosthetic care.
- Work in consultation with prosthodontists dentists DOMs PDs and all other Health Plan and Permanente Dental Associates personnel to assure highquality member care.
- As a clinical leader provide direct and indirect mentoring supervision and feedback to clinical staff.
- As a professional leader provide highquality care and serve as a responsible steward of resources.
This position is part time at 0.5 FTE.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in use of highspeed lathes and dental handpieces.
- Proficient use of semiadjustable and fully adaptable articulators.
- Full understanding of the geography of the mouth including mandibular movement and interarch relationships.
- Ability to provide laboratory direction in the evaluation and assessment of prosthetic appliance functionality.
- Ability to take an accurate impression that demonstrates appropriate freeway space and centric relationship.
- Proficient MS Office suite skills and familiarity with electronic mail/calendaring and dental software.
- Technological competence demonstrated by the ability including (but not limited to) the following: using Electronic Health Record system to appropriately document patient care activities: printing scanning and uploading documents electronically logging into various software programs while maintaining multiple passwords saving and retrieving electronic files troubleshooting ability of common issues and following directions related to software.
- Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) and the ability to problem solve in a customer service manner.
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
Required Experience:
- Completion of all course and clinical requirements requisite for successful achievement of the Oregon Board Exams.
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 2 years previous experience as a licensed Denturist.
