Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and safetyconscious Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of machinery and equipment with a focus on mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge handson experience in a machine shop environment and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and equipment care.
Key Responsibilities:
Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment for malfunctions.
Diagnose issues by listening for irregular sounds and consulting with supervisors or peers.
Dismantle defective machines and install or repair necessary parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts bearings gears and other machine components.
Install and repair electrical systems including transformers wiring and electronic components.
Assemble install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
Repair and maintain the facilitys physical structure.
Install program or repair automated systems such as robots or programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Maintain a safe working environment by following all FLSmidth safety procedures and regulations.
Participate in crosstraining opportunities at the companys discretion to support operational flexibility.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications & Skills:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 4 years experience in a general machine shop or industrial maintenance role.
Proficiency with plumbing and electrical systems.
Ability to interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
Strong understanding of health and safety standards related to mechanical electrical chemical and compressed gas systems.
Competency in using computers for time tracking email and internal systems.
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Reasoning Ability:
Apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form.
Handle problems involving multiple variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand walk use hands reach climb kneel crouch talk and hear.
Occasionally required to sit and detect odors.
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Vision requirements include close distance color peripheral depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration.
Regular risk of electrical shock.
Occasional exposure to high places fumes airborne particles and outdoor weather.
Noise level is typically very loud.
