Job Description
Introduction
Our client a leading safety equipment manufacturer North Riding is looking for an Operations Manager.
Our client is the global leader of controlled environments and safety technologies for the underground mining tunnelling chemical processing disaster relief and biotechnology industries.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will play an important role as a member of the Executive Committee driving change across the business through a number of key initiatives including the move and management to a new fitforpurpose facility leading six departments across a range of skillsets and the establishment of a PCB Electronics Department and paint & blast.
The Operations Manager will be responsible for five departments including:
- Chamber manufacturing
- Electrical manufacturing
- Electronics and PCB manufacturing
- Paint and blast
- Warehouse and inventory management.
The role will include but not be limited to:
- Management of manufacturing production logistics warehousing and inventory personnel.
- Develop improve and review operational policies and procedures
- Work with senior stakeholders to generate annual business plans and provide direction to the team around short and longterm goals
- Manage and control operational expense budgets and assets
- Oversee the Production Electronics and Fabrication facilities to ensure manufacturing consistency
- Monitor and manage production plans and schedules to ensure manufacturing times are met
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure the availability of materials and resources
- Develop improve and review operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 5 years Operations Management experience within a manufacturing/production/engineering environment covering electrical/electronics manufacturing
- Analytical innovative mindset with the ability to write strategic business plans
