Job Description

Job Title: Electrical Engineering Technician D

Job Code: 22864

Job Location: Rochester NY

Job Schedule: 5/8 Employees work 8 hours per day 5 days a week

Job Description:

The successful candidate for this Electrical Engineering Technician position will join a team of dedicated professionals who are responsible for supporting military communication products throughout their lifecycle (from prerelease to obsolescence).

Typical tasks include:

  • Mitigating component shortages through qualifying alternatives.
  • Soldering components building cables and assemblies.
  • Determining design process and test improvements to increase test yields and product quality.
  • Working in crossfunctional teams to meet manufacturability testability and other DFx requirements for volume production.
  • Assist with the design and implementation of circuit modification and execute necessary tests to validate the changes.
  • Working as part of the design engineering team to make necessary design changes prior to and during the launch of a new product.
  • Working to mitigate component obsolescence throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Working with vendors Quality and Supply Chain to address material discrepancies.
  • Troubleshooting unit modules and boards to the component level.

Essential Functions:

  • Highly developed support individual contributor.
  • Works autonomously (independently with general supervision).
  • May act as a mentor to lowerlevel peers and provide guidance on tasks.
  • Makes recommendations for solutions.
  • Works on assignments requiring judgment and initiative
  • Hardware troubleshooting ability including analog and RF components and circuits.
  • Ability to read schematics
  • Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and act upon test results.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment interfacing with multiple teams across the organization.
  • Ability to use typical lab equipment: Oscilloscope DMM Spectrum & Network analyzers and signal generators.
  • Must be a quick learner able to problem solve and be selfmotivated.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience as an Engineering Technician or 2 years postSecondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience as an Engineering Technicia.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with tactical Radio and Power Amplifier HW including troubleshooting to component level.
  • Working knowledge of LabVIEW and Jira a plus.
  • Experience with MS Office including advanced spreadsheet manipulation and presentation creation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of organization & supplier base.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in New York State is $30.53/hr $56.49/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
