Receive cases and work them up (i.e. meet with the attorney to strategize defensive theory) begin locating and investigating witnesses by conducting background checks preparing interviews and draft affidavits.
Research on possible evidence on social media platforms cell phones (i.e. submitting cell phones for extractions and subpoenaing cell phone records) and reviewing/charting that information.
Write summaries of interviews and keeping attorneys constantly apprised of case findings.
Travel to scenes and conduct canvasing of same to include photographing and personally locating surveillance videos and extracting same with either a prior subpoena or without subpoena but with consent of the custodian of the video.
Retrieval of discovery from local law enforcement and labs; travel out of county/state when pertinent witnesses must be interviewed.
Search and provide mitigating information and witnesses for the possibility of punishment; meet with clients and their families either in office in jail or other locations.

Education:
A Bachelors degree conferred by an institution of higher education from an accredited organization recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (or other state equivalent).

Licensure:
A valid drivers license is required. (Must obtain a Texas drivers license before date of hire).

Some weekend or night time hours may occasionally be required.
Salary:
Depends on qualifications
Based on 26 pay periods
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
