has an opening for the following position:
SUBSTATION ELECTRICIAN A
Greater Sudbury Utilities Inc. (GSU) is a diversified communityowned corporation focused on excellence innovation and growth. The GSU group of companies provides leadership in energy distribution alternative generation water heater rental products and leadingedge telecommunications technologies and services.
Under the direction of the Technical Services Supervisor the successful candidate must be experienced in all types of work related to the construction operation and maintenance of municipal substation equipment SCADA systems and underground distribution systems of all classes and voltages.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Must have successfully completed the Substation Electrician Certificate
- Graduation at the community college level in electrical or instrumentation
- 309 A Electrician Construction and Maintenance License
- Knowledge of E&USA Safety Rules Occupational Health & Safety Act Utility Work Protection Code and all other applicable legislation
- Working knowledge of a Utilitys distribution system would be an asset
- Valid class G drivers license as job duties require frequent field work.
