We are looking for a fulltime PSR Facilitator to lead and deliver training on the Private Sponsorship Program and its related support services to privately sponsored refugees Constituent Group (CG) members refugee ambassadors and other interested members from various ethnic/immigrant communities in Greater Victoria and across Vancouver Island. The PSR Facilitator contributes to the design and content of online video and inperson training tools and resources to potential and current CG members and support refugees in ambassador roles across Vancouver Island. These ambassadors serve as key resources within various ethnic communities helping to expand awareness of private sponsorship. The Facilitator will also be responsible for providing content for key integration videos for refugees on various topics supporting their integration journey. The Facilitator promotes and increases the visibility and outreach to sponsors that are organizationally or geographically remote to strengthen regional capacity and provides support to diverse groups of sponsors. Works with ethnic/immigrant communities and/or refugee ambassadors to transmit information about the PSR Program to current and future familylinked sponsors who face challenges navigating mainstream systems due to language barriers cultural differences or unfamiliarity with social norms. Supports the development and dissemination of educational materials (curricula multilanguage information sheets and Web resources) through mailing lists and listservs and Webinars. Assists with CG applications when necessary. Collaborates with Refugee Sponsorship Training Program Vancouver office where appropriate. Serves all individuals including BIPOC LGBTQIA2 Indigenous and those with diverse abilities. Reports to the PSR Manager.
What you will bring to the role:
Postsecondary education in social sciences refugee/forced migration studies community development adult education or related field.
Previous experience working in the Private Sponsorship of Refugees Program.
Familiarity with the resources provided by the Refugee Sponsorship Training Program.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Teams) Webinar and virtual meeting platforms (esp. Zoom) email and calendar maintenance.
Proven ability to effectively navigate and utilize IT systems software and hardware to streamline workflows troubleshoot issues and enhance productivity backed by demonstrated experience or training.
Strong technical proficiency in leveraging workplace technology to improve efficiency collaborate with teams and adapt to emerging tools and methodologies to serve clients effectively and on time.
Essential skills:
o Internet research and navigation.
o Demonstrable use of MS Office products including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Teams SharePoint and any other productivity software that supports the automation of processes and workflows.
o Basic graphic design (create posters and social media posts).
o Social media management (understanding of Facebook Instagram LinkedIn Twitter)
o Basic project management and team communication tools (Google Drive MS Teams One Drive Zoom).
o Proficient with MS Office and database management (iCare CRM OCMS CARMIS).
o Understanding of best practices of cybersecurity for data protection phishing prevention and secure system use.
o Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence technology cloud computing and cybersecurity (ChatGPT).
o Problem solving techniques.
Experience designing training curricula for diverse adult learners with varying levels of linguistic competence in the English language.
Proven facilitation skills with extensive experience in delivering training both online (synchronous and asynchronous) and inperson.
Experience writing information materials in plain language for diverse audiences with varying levels of understanding regarding complex legal concepts.
Keen understanding of diversity issues to work with persons from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Experience working with immigrants refugees and Indigenous partners and understanding of refugee issues.
Previous work experience within social services notforprofit and/or multicultural environment.
Proficiency in a settlement/resettlement language (Arabic Tigrinya Amharic Oromo Somali Persian) preferred.
Travel to community locations within Greater Victoria and to locations in Duncan Nanaimo and Campbell River/Comox Valley will be required.
Occasional travel to locations in other parts of British Columbia and/or Canada for purposes like professional development networking or conferences may also be required.
Some work outside of regular office hours including evenings and weekends will be required. Flex time schedules will be made to accommodate nonregular work hours.
ICA compensates for overtime hours with time in lieu.
A valid BC drivers license and access to a car is essential.

As a condition of hire a current clear criminal record check including vulnerable populations check and proof of WHMIS training is required.

Compensation and hours: This position starts at $27.61 per hour working a maximum of 35 hours per week and requires union membership.
