Job Description

Legal Entity:Entergy New Orleans LLC

Entergy has entered into an agreement to sell its Louisiana gas distribution business to Bernhard Capital Partners. The sale is expected to close in approximately the third quarter of 2025.

Entergy has no planned reduction in workforce as a result of this sale and intends to operate the business as usual prior to the sale.

Job Summary

The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and directing the activities of Gas Engineering employees in the areas of gas network design system planning and GISbased record management of the gas distribution system. Additional responsibilities include updating and maintaining data utilized by the Distribution Integrity Management Plan (DIMP) implementing recommended DIMP actions assisting with the development of capital budget maintaining relationships with city and state public work officials to manage highway projects assisting in the maintenance of standards and procedures for Gas Operations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Supervise Gas Engineering employees to work in the most safe and efficient manner possible
  • Supervise day to day activities of both office and fieldbased employees
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to employees and document performance
  • Identify and implement employee development and skills training plans
  • Perform technical review of work products calculations and specifications
  • Assist in the maintenance specification and development of gas distribution software systems
  • Ensure compliance associated with safety work practices pipeline safety regulations and emergency response
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve customer issues.
  • Prepare/monitor reports and deliver presentations to communicate ideas technical information process improvement and project business cases
  • Support efforts to improve and standardize processes
  • Work extended hours for storm response and emergencies
  • Perform role in rotation with other supervisors for afterhours Duty Supervisor callout

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering

Minimum experience required of the position

Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience

Minimum knowledge skills and abilities required of the position

  • Strong oral and written communications skills. Ability to communicate with employees customers and other internal
  • work groups
  • Strong organizational interpersonal skills
  • Good decision making abilities. Assess problems and make decisions under extreme pressure and time constraints
  • Proficient PC Skills (MS Suite and other Entergy applications)
  • Selfstarter able to perform at a high level without detailed supervision

Desired Skills:

  • General knowledge of gas pipeline and distribution design
  • Experience with natural gas distribution procedures and processes.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and drafting standards
  • Knowledge of Distribution Information Systems Geographic Information Systems and Document Management Systems
  • General knowledge of associated pipeline standards (ASME B31.1 DOT Part 192 API 5L)
  • General knowledge of gas fluid mechanics and pressure/flow analysis
  • General knowledge of I&C (Instrumentation and Control) Measurement / Monitoring equipment Civil Engineering
  • (Concrete/Structural Steel/Coatings)
  • PE license
  • Masters degree in Engineering or Business
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes
  • Strong desire to improve organizational effectiveness in areas including human performance materials and productivity
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities maintain focus and perform under pressure
