Job Description:
Integration Mission Systems segment is seeking a Senior Manager for Hardware Engineering. The candidate will be tasked with managing/leading RF engineers Digital engineers FPGA engineers EMI/EMC engineers and Mechanical engineers. The candidate should have design experience developing/testing RF/Digital LRUs (Line Replacable Units) for airborne requirements. The candidate should have knowledge of MILSTD461G and RTCA DO160G in regard to EMI/EMC testing and delivery of military aircraft. This position is responsible for managing the activities of Hardware Engineering in support of the delivery of military aircraft under contract. In addition they will plan and administer procedures and budgets lead staff hiring and development and make capital & noncapital budgetary recommendations.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and/or review and approve Hardware engineering bids
- Develop and maintain Hardware Engineering staff to meet current and future business needs inclusive of quantity and skills / experience
- Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction with sector / segment leadership
- Define and endorse allocation of capital to maximize test capability and productivity
- Develop and deploy Hardware Engineering process standards enabling best in class inclusive of quality schedule and cost performance.
- Plan and manage department level budgets
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders to include leadership PMO and other Engineering functions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering (or STEM equivalent) with a minimum of 15 years of related management/design experience
- Experience in the development and/or review and approval of engineering bids
- Experience leading an engineering organization inclusive of hiring and development
- Experience managing department level budgets
- Ability to acquire and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Experience working across multifunctional teams (program office system engineering software engineering supply chain quality vendors and customers)
- Experience in the drafting and submittal of managementlevel reports
- Experience leading root cause / corrective action (RCCA) investigations using disciplined problemsolving methods and statistical analysis 5 Whys fishbone etc.
- Effective leadership communication and interpersonal skills from executive to front line levels with an ability to collaborate with others as well as motivate and manage a team with excellent consultative influencing and conflict management
- Experience working in a DoD environment
- Experience designing RF and Digital hardware
- Experience with FPGA design
- Familiarity with MILSTD461G and RTCA DO160G related to EMI testing of LRUs and military aircraft
- Familiarity with MILSTD810H and RTCA DO160G related to environmental testing of LRUs
- Experience using SAP MRP/ERP software for product work planning
