Job Description

We are looking for an Associate to join our European Corporate Coverage team in London.

Duties and Responsibilities

Critical member of the Energy Power & Resources Group supporting business development origination and portfolio management activities across a portfolio of major Mining & Commodity Trading clients. Key aspects of the role are:

  • Preparation/coordination of client and prospect pitches/presentations
  • Financial modelling and corporate finance analysis of clients and prospects/targets both ordinary course and eventdriven
  • Identification of new business opportunities that support the team in building and deepening sustainable client relationships
  • Close collaboration with EMEA CIB product areas and overseas teams
  • Regular maintenance of client accounts and Salesforce
  • Completion of internal briefing memos committee papers KYC and other adhoc portfolio requests
  • Coordination and of transactions by working with the senior Coverage Bankers and relevant internal stakeholders

Qualifications Skills and Experience

    • Bachelors Degree or equivalent
    • Corporate finance experience/qualification highly desirable
    • Strong knowledge of and interest in the global energy mining and commodities sectors
    • Strong organisational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong numerical and analytical skills including financial modelling
    • Customercentric approach
    • Demonstrable ability to innovate support change and problem solve
    • Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
    • Sound knowledge of the Banking Industry
    • High level of computer literacy and skills in data manipulation / presentation
    • Language skills are an asset but not essential
