Job Description
We are looking for an Associate to join our European Corporate Coverage team in London.
Duties and Responsibilities
Critical member of the Energy Power & Resources Group supporting business development origination and portfolio management activities across a portfolio of major Mining & Commodity Trading clients. Key aspects of the role are:
- Preparation/coordination of client and prospect pitches/presentations
- Financial modelling and corporate finance analysis of clients and prospects/targets both ordinary course and eventdriven
- Identification of new business opportunities that support the team in building and deepening sustainable client relationships
- Close collaboration with EMEA CIB product areas and overseas teams
- Regular maintenance of client accounts and Salesforce
- Completion of internal briefing memos committee papers KYC and other adhoc portfolio requests
- Coordination and of transactions by working with the senior Coverage Bankers and relevant internal stakeholders
Qualifications Skills and Experience
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Corporate finance experience/qualification highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of and interest in the global energy mining and commodities sectors
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills including financial modelling
- Customercentric approach
- Demonstrable ability to innovate support change and problem solve
- Collaborative nature to contribute to a successful team performance
- Sound knowledge of the Banking Industry
- High level of computer literacy and skills in data manipulation / presentation
- Language skills are an asset but not essential
