Job Description Summary
The School of Health Sciences at Oakland University in Rochester Michigan invites qualified persons with a passion for Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences to apply for two fulltime tenure track appointments with rank and salary commensurate with experience. As a member of the department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences the expectations of this position are to: provide disciplinary expertise and teaching; establish a line of peerreviewed research and scholarship; advance clinical professional relationships with medical system partners for research clinical and teaching goals; and provide service to the school university and communities of practice including participation in student recruitment and retention continuous academic program refinement new program development and active involvement in professional organizations. Areas of specialization sought include immunology hematology hemostasis immunohematology and/or molecular diagnostics. Candidates with certification in Medical Laboratory Science ASCP or Medical Technology ASCP are especially encouraged to apply as are individuals with prior teaching experience in a Medical Laboratory Science program. A program leadership position may also be considered for the holder of Associate rank or higher. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum requirements are experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory and the pursuit or attainment of a terminal academic degree (e.g. PhD DSc). Candidates who are ABD and nearing completion will be considered if they can demonstrate evidence of completing degree requirements by August 15 2019.
