Job Description

Pastry Chef de Partie Luxury Hotel Group Vaalwater
Salary: R7500 R9000 (Negotiable DOE)

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join a luxury hotel group based in Vaalwater. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing cooking and presenting highquality pastry dishes while maintaining exceptional hygiene and safety standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a reputable kitchen brigade and contribute to delivering unforgettable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present highquality pastry and dessert items

  • Ensure mise en place is completed and handed over in accordance with SOPs

  • Order adequate supplies for the pastry section and ensure readiness before service

  • Supervise proper setup and ensure readiness of menu items

  • Work closely with the Sous Chef to maintain consistent seasoning portions and food appearance

  • Properly store excess food to minimize waste

  • Deliver dishes from the section promptly and efficiently

  • Follow hygiene safety and sanitation practices at all times

  • Maintain detailed records of preparation and presentation specifications

  • Coordinate tasks with fellow kitchen staff within the section

  • Be adaptable and ready to assist across various sections as needed

Core Competencies:

  • Good knowledge of pastry and baking techniques

  • Ability to produce highquality food consistently

  • Strong understanding of health and food safety regulations

  • Ability to follow food hygiene best practices

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Keen attention to detail and cleanliness

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure

  • Commitment to maintaining quality standards

  • Familiarity with various cooking methods tools and equipment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or lodge kitchen

  • Knowledge of a variety of pastry techniques and recipes

  • Ability to work within a structured team environment

  • Willingness to live onsite in a remote location
