Class Teacher
Location:Quidenham Norwich NR16 2NZ
Salary: p.a. (M1 UPS2
Hours:40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

Aurora Eccles School:
Were currently looking for a new Class Teacherto provide excellent teaching and leadership within their class. This position would suit someone with experience of teaching a range of subjects including English and mathematics. The successful candidate will support to embed the vision direction and culture that inspires staff teams to work together to provide the highest standards of education and care. We have colleagues who are KS1 and KS2 trained that are successfully applying their skills and knowledge to teaching our secondaryaged students.
Part of the Aurora Group Aurora Eccles School in Quidenham Norwichprovides day placements for students aged 11 to 16 years primarily with communication and interaction difficulties or specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia. Some may be on the autistic spectrum or have anxieties and difficulties that create barriers to learning.
With small classes a maximum of 10 students and a minimum of 3 staff per class you can focus on the needs of each student. There is a clinical team onsite to support you and your class and you will have the support of a highly experienced and stable SLT.

As a Class Teacher your role will be to provide high quality challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum which you will have the flexibility to adapt to enable our pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning and personal development.
- To facilitate this youll plan teach and assess according to the schools policies but informed by your training and experience and be responsible for the day to day running of the class and other relevant aspects of the running of the school.
- Youll supervise and provide support and guidance to our Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants and play a key role in their Professional Development Reviews.
Naturally you will take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity. Strong relationships form the foundation of our work which will include significant liaison with parents and carers.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in a relevant subject
- QTS or QTLS (essential). ECTs considered.
- Experience of teaching pupils with SEN and working from EHCP documents.
- Understanding of the safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
- Ability to create and maintain strong nurturing relationships with young people.
- A flexible approach a high level of creativity and the ability to adapt dynamically to meet needs as they arise.
Desired
- Experience of working with young people with SENDwithin a nurture framework.
- Experience of teaching across a range of subjects.
- Thorough working knowledge of the curriculum.
- Experience and knowledge of making adaptations to the curriculum for pupils with SEND.
- Experience of managing a range of approaches to learning to include the students with anxiety and SEND.
- Experience of multisensory teaching.
Due to the rural location of the school candidates are strongly advised to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
