You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Utqiagvik Trial Court of the Alaska Court System is looking for a highly motivated individual to be a Court Case Manager 2 (salary range 12.
The Position
This position will perform a variety of clerical and technical functions in support of court operations. You will serve as the incourt clerk for all minor offense civil protective order and grand jury proceedings and backup incourt clerk for civil weekend/holiday proceedings (after training). Duties will include preparing the courtroom for hearings preparing the jury room testing microphones and recording equipment announcing opening and closing of court proceedings marking and maintaining exhibits and exhibit lists preparing an accurate summary of court proceedings and preparing distributing and processing documents resulting from hearings. Additionally you will perform jury clerk duties. This will include creating terms in JuryView for trial and grand jury routing all requests for excusal and deferral to the judicial officer and maintain and updating JuryView records.
As a Court Case Manager 2 you will also perform front counter duties. You can expect to answer questions via phone and in person; receive file stamp and route court filings and all incoming mail receive and receipt revenue and bail monies and copy and certify court documents as needed.
Other responsibilities may include assisting customers seeking protective orders or modifications opening and closing protective order cases; accepting reviewing and docketing incoming pleadings and routing to the appropriate magistrate. You will also manage minor offense citation cases calendar and maintain warning notice/default procedures respond to records requests assist with marriage license applications and prepare marriage licenses for signature.
The Work Hours
Fulltime court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a onehour lunch break.

The Utqiagvik Courthouse is located on Agvik Street just blocks from the coast. The office consists of four Court Case Managers 2 under the supervision of the Clerk of Court 3. The courthouse also has one Superior Court Judge one Magistrate Judge a Chambers Judicial Assistant and a Law Clerk.
Utqiagvik is one of the northernmost cities and towns in the world and the northernmost in the United States. From May until August the sun does not set and from November to the end of January the sun never rises above the horizon. You may even see a polar bear in town!

Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer AND the ability to keyboard at least 40 words per minute (net).

SELECTION PROCEDURE
