Class Summary
Job Description
This position is responsible for clearly and concisely communicating in English and Korean/Vietnamese with program participants community groups the public and staff. Additionally this position will respond to basic Family and Consumer Sciences inquiries via walkins email and phone; and triage complicated questions to a higher level of expertise (an Extension Agent or Program Assistant)
Essential Duties- Preparing educational handouts and assembling supplies for classes programs and events
- Assisting with registering class participants (virtually or inperson)
- Assisting with preparation and distribution of activity kits for handson learning labs
- Collecting program evaluations
- Providing educational assistance on food safety how to properly conduct radon testing and canner testing
- Communicating objectives and activities of the program
- Perform related duties as assigned
Public Speaking Duties- Assisting with fundraising events such as Gwinnett Extensions annual plant sale and 4H Farm Friends
- Collaborating with team members to develop and implement a public relations agenda to promote student enrollment
Other Job Requirements/Information- This job may require working after hours weekends and/or holidays.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED AND
- 1 year of family and consumer sciences experience or related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Drivers license
- Experience working with educational programs
