Job Description

Are you a creative powerhouse who has a desire to make an impact We are looking for a superstar Media and Communications Officer to support our digital communications strategy. You will manage our social media channels producing engaging content and assisting with digital marketing campaigns to enhance our brand presence and community engagement.

This is a 2day per week opportunity for candidates eager to grow professionally and develop their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment. Whether you are just starting your career or have limited experience we hope to hear from you!

Independent Community Living Australia (ICLA) is a notforprofit community organisation delivering mental health recovery services and personalised support to individuals with psychosocial intellectual and other disabilities as well as those seeking support at difficult times in their life. ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Social Media Management: Create schedule and monitor content across Instagram LinkedIn Facebook YouTube TikTok and other relevant platforms using Hootsuite and HubSpot.
  • Content Creation: Develop and post engaging written graphic and video content that aligns with our brand values and mission.
  • Campaign Support: Assist in the planning and of social media and digital marketing campaigns to promote awareness and advocacy.
  • Graphic Design: Create visually appealing graphics for social media newsletters and website content using design software such as Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Content Calendar Management: Maintain a structured content calendar to ensure consistency and strategic alignment across all platforms.
  • SEO and Website Support: Assist in updating website content and optimizing digital media for search engines.
  • Collaboration: Work with internal teams stakeholders and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Event Promotion: Support the promotion of events campaigns and initiatives through digital channels.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Qualifications (enrolled) in Communications Media Marketing Public Relations or a related field.
  • Experience in social media management preferably within a notforprofit health or social services environment.
  • Strong track record in content creation for different audiences including storytelling.
  • Proficiency in using social media tools such as Hootsuite and HubSpot.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles including SEO and analytics
  • Selfstarter with strong time management skills able to deliver within deadlines
  • Independent energetic and creative
  • Curious adapting to changing situations and audiences
  • Critical thinker able to analyse information and take sound judgement
  • Strong stakeholder management able to work with people from different backgrounds

Desirable:

  • Experience with graphic design tools (e.g. Canva Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator).
  • Skills in video editing (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro Final Cut Pro or CapCut).
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital media.
  • Passion for social impact and working in the disability and mental health sector.
