This position is open to Alaska Residents only.

What You Will Be Doing:
This is a permanent seasonal position that primarily works on refurbing equipment such as pumps and chainsaws used on wildland fires. This position Independently inspects equipment and identifies actual or likely equipment failures. This equipment includes water pumps saws and small engines. This equipment is used in fighting wildland fires and requires a high level of mechanical dependability; therefore inspecting each piece of equipment is critical to prevent future breakdowns.
Will operate common warehouse equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks pressure washers generators and general shop equipment.
Applicants should be aware that the work can be highly stressful during periods of intense support activity. It frequently requires long hours on short notice callback in the evenings or on weekends work shifts of 12 hours for extended periods short deadlines quick decisions and rapid changes in priorities.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
Physical Requirements include routine movement such as walking bending kneeling squatting sitting standing reaching twisting pushing pulling and grasping. Performing work from floor level to above shoulder height. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.

Seeking a hardworking individual that can work individually when required or as part of a team to complete necessary tasks. They must be willing to work long hours and on their regular days off as fire activity dictates.
