French Language Camp Counselors for the French Language Summer Camp
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the OttawaCarleton District School Boards (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of education in the school and the District by creating a positive and inclusive school climate learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with a human rights and equity perspective to foster student success achievement and wellbeing.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: INTERNATIONAL & INDIGENOUS LANGUAGES PROGRAM SUMMER PROGRAM (Elementary)
The OttawaCarleton District School Board operates a French summer camp for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 during the summer IIL program from July 2 to July 25 2025. The Board is seeking to hire French language camp counselors/ teachers to work during the French summer camps. Anyone offered and accepting work within the program is afforded with protection through district policies and procedures pertaining to all aspects of their work including Health & Safety. Please note that your work within the program does not allow you to accrue Continuing Education seniority credits.

Candidates will need to be available to work inperson at a school site Monday to Friday from July 2 to July 25 2025.

Salary: $33.00 per hour 4 vacation pay
ELIGIBILITY & QUALIFICATIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties of the French camp counselors/teachers commence on the date of hire and include responsibilities and meetings before during and after the posted dates for the program including:
Plan coordinate and implement a program that is optimal for the French language learning and that reflects the standards of teaching practice in Ontario;
Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students;
Familiarity with digital tools (e.g. Google Meet Google Classroom Google Site etc. to be able to teach virtually;
Incorporate equitable and inclusive learning practices;
Assess and evaluate students progress;
Organize relevant language activities to support thematic units field trips workshops
Attend meetings and/or professional development learning opportunities.
Report to the Summer School Site Principal

Selection Team: It is anticipated that the selection team will consist of the Program Manager of IILP and/or the Site Principals supervising the programs at these two school locations. This team will review applications submitted through .
Interviews:Interviews will be 30 minutes in duration. All qualified applicants will be considered on the basis of qualifications abilities knowledge and experience.
PLEASE NOTE: As a condition of employment all new employees will be required to submit a recent Police Record Check for the vulnerable sector prior to their start date with the OCDSB.
