Geotab is seeking a Product Designer who will work crossfunctionally with our sales and support teams to enhance and improve the customer experience across onboarding and engagement. What youll do:
As a Product Designer your key area of responsibility will be to research collaborate problem solve and create design solutions for customer onboarding and engagement experiences across our ecosystem. To be successful in this role you will be a Customer Experience and Service Design focused individual. You have hands on experience in a productbased company doing design research and transforming your findings into design prototypes. You are collaborative and can work with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. You are a systems thinker with strong communication skills. You are solution driven able to manage multiple timelines and contrasting priorities to ensure successful delivery.
How youll make an impact
- Lead research ideation and creation of our application interactions.
- Partner with UX Research Product Management Development and Data Science Team members during design and development to take broad conceptual ideas understand user needs and lead the design process into actionable designs and prototypes.
- Map out user flows wireframes and prototypes for user testing feedback and deployment.
- Dive deep into Customer/User experience to develop deep insights about user behaviours.
- Conduct interviews and collect feedback from end users and subject matter experts.
- Work with cross functional teams to design build and rollout products that deliver on the Geotab vision and strategy.
- Use Design Principles as well as existing visual frameworks to produce designs that are visually cohesive with the rest of Geotabs products with a holistic consideration for the products future.
- Design web applications using industry best practices and existing visual frameworks.
- Track design features and fixes from different subject matter experts.
- Maintain compliance with AODA guidelines for site accessibility.
- Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
- Create personas through user research and data.
- Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success.
- Ensure designs code and animations work in different browsers on different devices.
- Illustrate design ideas using storyboards process flows and sitemaps.
- Design graphic user interface elements like menus tabs and widgets.
- Build page navigation buttons and search fields.
- Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback.
What youll bring to the role
- 3 years of experience in User Research and Product Design within a product based company.
- 2 years of experience in an individual contributor role on a product experience or service design team.
- Deep knowledge of product design including common interaction patterns used and associated tradeoffs and best practices for responsive web applications.
- Experience collaborating closely with product management engineering and research.
- Proficiency in UI design and using tools like Figma Sketch InVision Principle etc.
- Ability to lead all aspects of the usercentered design process from conception to completion.
- Communicate complex ideas goals and problems in a way that is accessible even to those unfamiliar with the project.
- Must have the flexibility to adapt to growing technology and market demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Relevant Bachelors Diploma/Degree or relevant industry experience.
- Degree specialization in Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical or Electronics Engineering or any other related field.
