Scope of Position:
The Dishwasher & Kitchen Assistant is responsible for maintaining the kitchen dishwasher room providing assistance to the Head Cook in prepping needed items for meals assist with janitorial duties in both the kitchen and dining room areas and any other kitchen duties as assigned by the Head Cook or Operations Manager. Physical Requirements:
Must be able to operate institutional kitchen and culinary equipment. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. Ability to stand and/or be physically active for up to two hours or more at a time. Must be able to walk run reach and grasp with hands and arms lift bend and stoop. The employee will lift or move up to 50 pounds at a time daily. Requires lifting hot heavy objects and working with sharp tools.
Working Conditions:
Works in a kitchen and dining room setting. Will work in a variety of temperature ranges including deep freezer units walkins and hot summer days with a running oven.
Miscellaneous:
The Salvation Army does have a dress code. For the kitchen and dining room areas you should be prepared to adhere to food safety and health department suggestions of closetoed nonslip shoes long pants to cover legs and ankles hair nets or equivalent and aprons when needed.
