Head Chef Luxury Care Home Setting

40 hours per week (including alternate weekends)
Salary: 33000

Our client a beautifully designed and purposebuilt care home is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to join their team. Known for delivering a luxury standard of care to older adults the service places a strong emphasis on fresh nutritious meals that bring comfort joy and wellbeing to residents each day.

As the Head Chef you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen from menu planning and food preparation to mentoring junior kitchen staff. Working in a beautifully designed and fully equipped kitchen the successful candidate will deliver a varied menu that caters to individual dietary needs while ensuring a consistently high standard of presentation taste and nutrition.

What Were Looking For

  • Proven experience in a Head Chef or Senior Chef role ideally within a care or healthcare setting
  • A strong understanding of nutritional needs particularly in older adults
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills
  • Relevant food hygiene qualifications (Level 3 or above preferred)
  • Passion for creating highquality homestyle meals that support health and wellbeing
  • Strong organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and prepare fresh nutritious and wellbalanced meals tailored to the needs of older adults
  • Lead and mentor the kitchen team ensuring high standards of cleanliness organisation and professionalism
  • Oversee stock control ordering and kitchen budget management
  • Ensure full compliance with food hygiene health and safety and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with the care team to understand and accommodate individual dietary needs and preferences
  • Promote a positive dining experience and warm welcoming mealtimes for all residents
