Job Description
We are seeking applicants to fill a Tenure Track or Clinical Applied Associate Professor Position in Nursing. The Faculty will also serve as the Director for our Graduate Nursing Programs working in collaboration with the Department Chair and Dean to oversee maintain and enhance the academic quality and viability of our graduate programs.
Responsibilities
Program Operations In collaboration with the department chair monitor program budget Provide input regarding course scheduling and faculty assignments Represent program at external professional meetings/conferences Be involved in professional organizations at the state and/or national levels to increase the visibility of the University and College Participate in collegewide and departmental meetings and other leadership team meetings as scheduled Work collaboratively with Admissions Student Success and other related offices to coordinate and oversee recruitment retention and advisement of students Curriculum Facilitate program facultys understanding of their contributions to the program College and University goals Facilitate regular review and assessment of curriculum Facilitate curriculum development to align with current professional accreditation standards and practice expectations Support and promote commitment to inclusive excellence values and efforts Faculty Support Assist with recruitment and evaluation of adjunct faculty as needed Provide feedback on course materials standards of practice and student accomplishment of course and program outcomes Conduct program meetings Encourage program faculty professional development Promote interprofessional collaboration related to teaching scholarship and service Participate in community and academic service activities internal and external committees as needed Students Respond to student inquiries requests concerns in a timely manner Provide accurate timely and holistic advisement to students Track admission progression and graduation of program students; work with chair and Manager of Student Services and Data to update student information and progress Teaching Maintain a teaching workload each semester Build new and maintain existing courses through coordination with the University instructional designers Provide academic advising to students Other Applicants should describe in their letter of intent how their teaching and/or scholarship will advance intercultural competence in all students. Applicants are expected to describe in their letter of intent how their scholarship contributes to diverse communities. Candidates are encouraged to describe any particular expertise in curriculum development related to inclusivity and belonging in Nursing and Nursing education.
Required Qualifications
Required: An earned doctorate (PhD EdD DNP or DNSc) in nursing or a doctorate in a related discipline and a masters degree in nursing. An unencumbered Connecticut RN License by the date of appointment. Experience teaching Graduate Nursing Courses in the online environment. Experience with nursing curriculum and program assessment and national accreditation. Preferred: Experience teaching and advising diverse nursing student populations in higher education or practice setting. Demonstrated commitment incorporating inclusivity principles into curriculum and teaching practices in nursing education. Demonstrated leadership experience in higher education with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
