Mission
- Take charge of cost estimation for Garretts purchased components and drive our cost efficiency to new heights.
What Youll Do:
Costing/Cost Tools:
- Develop and refine Should Cost models.
- Validate and enhance new Should Cost models.
- Identify and report key cost drivers.
- Keep our Should Cost database uptodate with the latest market trends.
- Assist in creating various costing tools (bottomup historical comparison MCT etc..
Strategy:
- Analyze competitiveness reports for your component family by suppliers regions and process technology.
- Compare actual sourcing prices with planned competitiveness targets.
- Forecast target prices for your components in line with our Commodity Strategy.
- Update the Cost Plan for your component family.
Development & Bidding Phases:
- Establish standard costs for baseline components.
- Support performance/cost tradeoff analysis.
- Advise engineering on cost levels for different designs and processes.
- Suggest target prices for components during PQF using bottomup and historical data.
Sourcing & Production Phases:
- Set shouldcost targets for sourcing.
- Assist in negotiations to bridge the gap between supplier quotes and Should Cost.
- Support VE initiatives by analyzing components and participating in VA/VE workshops.
What We Need:
- Experience: Experisein casting welding stamping plastic injection tuning and milling wire cutting CNC and other conventional machining processes or supplier quality management;
- Education:Bachelors degree preferably in Engineering
- Knowledge: Familiar with key processes in automotive proficient in the characteristics of manufacturing processes of automotive industry (industrial engineering)
- Language Skills:Advanced English proficiency.
