- Some of these opportunities may be up to 40 hours per week for up to 6 months of employment while others may provide parttime coverage on evenings holidays and weekends for less than 70 hours per month.

Our Parks team has multiple positions Parks/Grounds Maintenance Worker positions available. As a Temporary (ExtraHire) Maintenance/Grounds Technician you will have the opportunity to work in all sorts of park settings and facilities and you will work alongside other parks maintenance professionals to accomplish challenging and rewarding work that improves the quality of life for Pierce County residents. These positions are located in our South Region working at Frontier Park Heritage Recreation Center Meridian Habitat Park and other smaller parks in the area.

You will work as part of a team that supports the maintenance and repair of the infrastructure of the Pierce County Parks system and direct knowledge of the handson work to keep our facilities functioning. Your work will be instrumental in providing Pierce County residents with safe and enjoyable parks and facilities. Nature of the Work:
You are responsible for performing a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds buildings structures and equipment within the Parks Department. You may typically be required to learn and participate in maintenance activities associated with a variety of skills and trades.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
The variety of work performed in this position includes a wide variety of maintenance and repair tasks for grounds buildings structures and equipment.
- Perform general parks maintenance work such as but not limited to weeding trimming and mowing.
- Perform maintenance work such as but not limited to facilities cleaning.
- Other duties as assigned.
1. Cross Park 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with 2 consecutive weekdays off)
2. Frontier Park 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (with 2 consecutive weekdays off)
3. Heritage Recreation Center Tues and Weds 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
4. Heritage Recreation Center ThursMon6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Qualifications
- Ability to safely lift push and pull 50lbs
- Ability to work all terrains in all weather conditions
- Minimum 18 years of age
Desired Requirements:
- Current drivers license
- Experience in grounds keeping including weeding trimming and mowing
