Job Description

Alfred Health

Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and communitybased services.

About the Role

Applications are invited for the position of Specialist in Urology (Fractional) at Alfred Health to work 5 hours per week working in clinics and theatre.

The successful applicant is required:

  • To provide excellent clinical expertise and service in Urology and Robotic Surgery.
  • To provide supervision to junior medical and other relevant staff within the Unit/ Department.
  • To support Alfred Healths quality monitoring and improvement initiatives
  • To support Alfred Healths teaching research and clinical governance programs.
  • To support the strategic priorities and values & beliefs of Alfred Health.

Qualifications and Skills Required

Our preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:

  • Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice.
  • Fellowship of the relevant college(s).
  • Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Urology with special scope of practice in Robotic Surgery.
  • Meets Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Urology with special scope of practice in Robotic Surgery.
  • Applicants must have special expertise in PCNL surgery.
  • Experience in teaching and an involvement in research are desirable.
  • Outstanding communication skills including welldeveloped conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
  • Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
