Job Description

AZ Compass Elementary and AZ Compass Prep a K12 campus in North Chandler are seeking out a change agent as our Community and Character Coach. We are a boutique like campus meaning that we are small campus but extraordinary in what we can offer our focus is the 3 As Academics Arts and Athletics.

The Community & Character Coach is a key leader in fostering a positive engaged and studentcentered school culture. This individual is responsible for guiding students in leadership personal growth and community involvement while also addressing and reducing negative behavior issues across campus.

This role is centered around creating an environment where students feel connected supported and inspiredwhether through leadership programs (such as Leader in Me) student engagement initiatives (school programs) schoolwide traditions or behavioral interventions. The Community & Character Coach works collaboratively with teachers students administrators and families to enhance student attendance academic performance and a strong sense of school identity.

Education extends beyond academicsits about developing leaders fostering connections and creating lifelong traditions. The Community & Character Coach plays a vital role in ensuring that every student feels valued supported and inspired to succeedboth inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

1. School Culture & Leadership Development

Develop and implement leadership programs student empowerment initiatives and characterbuilding activities that align with the schools vision.

Guide students in developing personal responsibility respect and accountability through structured programs mentorship and positive reinforcement.

Serve as a resource for character education and leadership training utilizing Leader in Me and other effective tools to shape a culture of excellence.

2. Behavior Management & Student Support

Lead efforts to proactively reduce negative student behaviors by implementing positive behavior intervention strategies mentorship programs and restorative practices.

Work closely with students who struggle behaviorally providing coaching guidance and structured interventions to help them succeed.

Serve as a bridge between students teachers and families to address concerns and implement individualized plans that promote positive behavior and personal growth.

Foster a school environment that prioritizes accountability fairness and mutual respect ensuring students feel both challenged and supported.

3. Student Engagement & School Traditions

Actively encourage student participation in extracurricular programs clubs and leadership opportunities.

Advocate for the development of extracurricular programs that interests students.

Spearhead the development of schoolwide traditions events and activities that create a strong sense of school pride and community.

Support studentled initiatives that enhance school culture such as peer mentoring service projects and leadership councils.

Collaborate with teachers coaches and student leaders to develop programs that align with school values and student interests.

4. Attendance & Academic Connection

Implement strategies to increase student attendance and ensure students feel connected to their learning environment.

Work with school staff to identify and support students who are disengaged atrisk or struggling academically due to behavioral or social challenges.

Develop family engagement initiatives to strengthen the schoolhome partnership and reinforce student success.

5. Collaboration & Community Building

Serve as a key liaison between students staff families and the community working to unify all stakeholders in supporting student success.

Partner with teachers and administrators to create a positive school climate ensuring that all students feel safe supported and motivated.

Encourage parent involvement through workshops volunteer opportunities and communitybuilding events.

Qualifications & Skills

Be the fun police!!

Passion for student leadership culturebuilding and behavioral development in a K12 setting.

Experience in behavior management student mentoring counseling or education preferred.

Strong understanding of positive behavior intervention strategies student engagement tactics and character development programs.

Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills with students staff and families.

Ability to plan organize and lead largescale events and initiatives that foster school culture.

A creative solutionoriented mindset with the ability to develop new traditions and engagement strategies that resonate with students.

Minimum BS Degree 35 years in an educational setting classroom experience a must other school leadership roles a plus.
