Job Description
Summary of Duties:
Working with the professional team the Patient Service Partner participates in the caring of patients by providing a variety of support services to the team and patients; participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service; and promotes and maintains good public relations with patients visitors and Hospital staff. The environment is busy and highpaced and can be stressful. The PSP will be responsible for:
Assisting with lifting frequent transferring of patients
Assisting with patient care including positioning transfers delivering meal trays
Delivering patient information equipment and supplies
Restocking supplies moving equipment i.e. tables positioning devices etc
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education
PSW Certificate or completed the Sunnybrook PSP (formerly PSA) course required
Infection Prevention and Control Certificate required
Ability to read and write English
Two 2 years of related health care experience
Recent related health care experience preferably in an Obstetrical/PostPartum setting
Previous Birthing unit experience an asset
Recent PSP experience required
Must be accustomed to high patient acuity
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work under pressure and to handle various tasks within a limited time frame
Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team;
Previous experience an asset.
