Pay Range: $16.50$18

The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

BASIC PURPOSE

This position will manage the Service Center promoting The Salvation Armys mission and identity while overseeing daily social service programs in the community. The Coordinator will collaborate with the Field Representative to create an Advisory Board engage with community groups and recruit and retain volunteers. They will also work together to secure funding through grants fundraising events kettle campaigns and other sources. Additionally the Coordinator will coordinate and supervise special.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Represent The Salvation Army within the faithbased community. Including referrals as needed
  2. Handle office correspondence including letters emails phone calls and mailings.
  3. Manage and inventory equipment and office supplies.
  4. Keep accurate records and ensure proper reporting procedures including documentation and reports of funding sources.
  5. Maintain a clean and organized office and storeroom.
  6. Interview and assist clients within program guidelines referring to other resources and maintaining records.
  7. Collaborate with community agencies to stay informed about their programs and avoid service duplication and inform them on available TSA services.
  8. Build and maintain vendor relationships to support clients.
  9. Coordinate seasonal distributions (e.g. holiday food/toys backtoschool summer camp).
  10. Organize and maintain an ongoing food pantry.
  11. Recruit train and manage volunteers for programs and events.
  12. Establish and maintain an active Advisory Board.
  13. Assist in identifying and applying for grants donations and funding sources for financial stability.
  14. Organize and supervise fundraising events including the kettle campaign.
  15. Work with PR Director and Field Representative to promote programs and handle public inquiries.
  16. Seek noncost publicity and maintain positive media relationships.
  17. Assist with EDS work and ministry as needed.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma
  2. The minimum age is 21
  3. Minimum two 2 years of Secretary/Administrative Assistant experience preferred
  4. Minimum one 1 year social service experience preferred
  5. High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  6. Computer literate in Microsoft Word Excel Publisher Outlook and TEAMS preferred
  7. Reliable transportation (mileage reimbursement available).
  8. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  9. Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking
  10. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:

  1. Possess and maintain a current valid California Class C Drivers License
  2. Must be 21 years of age or older
  3. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training within 30 days of employment
  4. Current Food Handlers Certification or obtain within 30 days of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to sit walk stand bend squat climb kneel and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
  2. Ability to grasp push and pull objects
  3. Ability to reach overhead
  4. Ability to lift to 25 lbs.
