Class Summary
- Job Description
This Extension Program Assistant is responsible for providing customer service problemsolving and opportunities for citizens that focuses on developing youth nutrition and health meal planning family finances and aging.
Essential Duties- Communicating with English Korean or Vietnamese participants and community groups
- Working collaboratively with the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Extension Agent staff members volunteers and other communityorganizations
- Developing and implementing public relations to promote student enrollment and communicating program activities and objectives
- Performing a variety of clerical duties in support of program activities such as preparing typing duplicating and filing materials
- Recording information maintaining records answering calls and scheduling activities
- Participating in regular staff meetings and assisting with inservice training
- Preparing and facilitating a variety of programs for youth adults and older adults
- Operating a variety of equipment (agriculture arts and crafts and office)
- Acting as a liaison between parents staff and schools
Public Speaking- Assisting with preparation and facilitation of a variety of programs for youth adults and older adults/seniors
- Promoting/marketing FACS classes programs and trainings at health fairs and countywide events
Grade
Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelors degree in education or a related field
- Two years of experience in education or a related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid drivers license
- Proficient in speaking reading and writing Korean or Vietnamese
- Bachelors degree in family and consumer sciences
- Experience developing educational and nutritional programs
