About the role
In Search of Safety is a community education program that engages the Australian public in conversations related to forced migration. This position will work alongside Red Cross staff and volunteers to present interactive workshops that talk with school students and community groups about the asylum seeker journey and the reasons why people seek protection as refugees in Australia whilst promoting compassion harmony and social cohesion.
The primary role of a Lived Experience Community Speaker is to share personal experiences of seeking asylum and living in Australia to increase understanding and promote connection.

This role is covered by the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 1. Salary $40.00 per hour including casual loading.
