Job Description

SIERRA (Science Insights Experience Research Reporting & Analytics) has an opportunity for an innovative and highly motivated Senior Technical Program Manager to join our growing organization. We are building new software products and large scale distributed systems which all managers and leaders at Amazon will use as a part of their day to day work. We are empowered to think big at Amazon and the SIERRA Team is doing just that.
Qualified candidates have extensive experience defining projects and programs collecting requirements leading the development of detailed functional and test specifications coordinating efforts to scope schedule and deploy new features sets; as well as analyzing cost/benefit of feature selection and communicating results throughout the organization. Finally qualified candidates must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities.

Key job responsibilities
Do you find redefining and building new platforms from the ground up exciting Do you like finding cross team solutions to complex problems Do you like working with business partners and engineers to ensure the business needs align with the products technical limitations We are looking for a Principal Technical Program Manager who can take the lead in communicating status identifying and solving ambiguous problems. You inform and influence the business requirements design and delivery by making insightful contributions to team priorities and approach.

Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well communicate clearly and have a consistent track record of delivering large scale solutions across teams. You will contribute to all aspects of an agile software development lifecycle including scope definition requirements design documentation and operations. You will use your knowledge to keep teams on track and owning all aspects of solutions endtoend through full stack software development.

A day in the life
As a Principal Technical Program Manager you will work with internal and external stake holders to align on business goals influence designs and build out technology process flows needed to support the complex compensation needs. While ensuring all stake holders understand the intended process benefits and timelines.

About the team
This role is within the SIERRA (Science Insights Experience Research Reporting & Analytics) team. SIERRA is an organization within ALX that is a horizontal multidisciplinary organization whose mission is to be a force multiplier for the broader ALX organization and our key customer cohorts. We accomplish this by using our expertise in data analytics and science economics machine learning (ML) UX I/O psychology and engineering to build insights and experiences that raise the bar in understanding and shaping decision making at scale by integrating within and across talent journeys as well as through selfservice tools and closed loop mechanisms outside of those journeys. Our portfolio of products spans foundational data sources metrics and research through to finished features and products that our endcustomers interact with on a daily basis.

10 years of engineering experience
7 years of technical product or program management experience
5 years of software development experience
Experience managing programs across cross functional teams building processes and coordinating release schedules

8 years of handson work managing complex technology projects experience
Experience managing projects across cross functional teams building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
