Erie Family Health Centers a nationally recognized top workplace with 13 sites in Chicago and suburbs is looking for a valuable addition to our Clinical Integration and Compliance team! The Risk Manager plays a crucial role in identifying assessing and mitigating potential risks within healthcare facilities to ensure patient safety regulatory compliance and organizational efficiency. This individual will provide ongoing support to health center staff to achieve and sustain compliance with regulatory standards such as CMS HRSA FTCA NCQA etc.

*Compensation is based on each candidates experience skills and education within the range identified for the role. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements of the role will start at entry in the range. Any additional skills experience and education will be reflected in the compensation offered.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides agencywide support around risk management compliance and privacy.
  • Manage incident reporting system activities
    • Review incident reports and collect data to identify and monitor risk
    • Audit incident reports for accuracy and consistency over multiple sites programs and years to support meaningful analysis and trending
    • Produce quarterly incident report analysis for Senior Operations Senior Provider Leaders and site management teams
    • Provide training on incident reporting as needed and support system updates
  • Prepare quarterly risk management reports for staff Quality Improvement Executive Leadership Team and senior leadership using incident report data and patient feedback.
  • Conduct regular targeted risk assessments including assessments of areas of high clinical risk.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of progressively responsible healthcare experience; OR
  • Associate degree or two years of college with 7 years of progressively responsible healthcare experience; OR
  • Bachelors degree from a 4year accredited college or university with 5 years of progressive healthcare experience

Preferred:

  • RN ML or LLM is preferred.
  • Certification in risk management compliance process improvement or other related training is preferred.

Experience:

Required:

  • Five 5 years of clinical experience or experience in healthcare

Preferred:

  • Experience in healthcare risk management or quality/process improvement.

Skills and Knowledge

Required:

  • Knowledge and understanding of systems within a community health care setting.
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work collaboratively with staff at all levels including senior clinical staff and managers.
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills including demonstrated ability to prepare reports using clear concise language organize information into a logical sequence and include content appropriate for the purpose and audience.
  • Organization and project management skills with the capacity to manage competing priorities and respond to emerging needs while achieving specified targets and deadlines.
  • Competence in document preparation using Microsoft Word data collection and analysis using Microsoft Excel and competence in using Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated understanding of clinical risk management and quality improvement concepts with emphasis on systems improvement continuous quality improvement and organizational change.
  • Familiarity with NCQA Primary Care Medical Home HRSA FTCA and/or OSHA standards.
