King County Metros ORCA Business Operations (OBO) team is seeking an experienced project/program manager to help streamline team operations and advance ORCA program goals and initiatives.

OBO is a small team comprised of project managers and ORCA system experts who partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and maintain our regional fare payment system so that it is easy to use and responsive to diverse customer needs. The OBO team sits in the Customer Communications & Services section of the Mobility Division in the Metro Transit Department of King County and is the primary liaison to our partners at other ORCA transit agencies. This team is the central point of contact for all King County employees and teams in matters regarding ORCA fare payment including customer and staff support issues regional partner and vendor relationship management program administration and implementation of new system functionality. OBO places a strong emphasis on customer service and their mission is to ensure that ORCA users have a convenient reliable and superior experience with the ORCA system by addressing system problems head on developing resources to help users navigate the system within their given function and prioritizing new system functionality that centers Metros vision and customer needs.

The successful candidate for this position will play a vital role in advancing these efforts by leading special projects facilitating stakeholder engagement supporting the manager with program administration tasks to ensure continuous support for critical functions developing plans policies procedures tools and trainings for a broad range of users and using data to develop reports and analyze operations to encourage continuous improvement for all. They will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organization skills to track and manage projects involving multiple user groups while accomplishing independent projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will have strong problemsolving and analytical skills and experience using data to make informed decisions.

This recruitment will also be used to fill one career service Project/Program Manager III position and establish an eligibility pool to fill future Career Service opportunities in this classification within the Mobility Division. The eligibility pool will be valid for 12 months from the date of posting or until exhausted and may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Work Schedule:
The work week is 40 hours Monday through Friday. Work hours are typically 8:00am5:00pm but can be flexible with approval. As an exempt role under the Fair Labor Standards Act it is not eligible for overtime pay. The employee in this position will be expected to work at King Street Center 201 S Jackson St Seattle) or other King County facility at least one day per week or as otherwise directed by the manager.

Work Location(s):
This is a hybrid position. The main onsite location is King Street Center 201 S. Jackson St. Seattle WA.

Teleworking Requirement:
The work associated with this position is currently being performed in a hybrid fashion including teleworking complemented with onsite work and meetings as needed. Frequency of onsite work will vary based on business and operational needs. Employees must reside in Washington State and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.

King County has a robust collection of
tools and resources to support working remotely. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a home work space with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
