Nicklaus Childrens Hospital a 325bed freestanding childrens hospital and Level I trauma center and Nicklaus Childrens Pediatric Specialists the physician multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Childrens Health System have an exceptional opportunity for a fellowshiptrained BC/BE pediatric radiologist. Candidates with subspecialty training in interventional and/or neuroradiology are preferred.
The Department of Radiology at Nicklaus Childrens Hospital has been serving the community since the hospitals inception in 1950 and features stateoftheart ACRaccredited imaging equipment at the main hospital and offsite imaging centers including 6 MRI (including 3T and intraoperative 1.5 T) dual source CT (Siemens FLASH) Siemens PETCT 2 dualhead nuclear cameras 2 Siemens fluoroscopy units 2 EOS imaging radiographic units highquality GE digital units and 13 GE Logic 9 ultrasounds. In early 2025 Nicklaus Childrens Health System implemented Visage7 which brings cuttingedge advanced technology to the radiology and imaging space. A brand new stateoftheart interventional suite is currently under construction.
The group is the largest in South Florida devoted exclusively to the practice of pediatric radiology with the only ACGMEaccredited pediatric radiology fellowship program in South Florida. This group of 13.6 pediatric radiologists includes experts in neuroradiology cardiac CT fetal interventional and musculoskeletal imaging. We are a collegial group that values worklife balance and has a mix of attending physicians fellows and rotating radiology residents from Mount Sinai Medical Center of Greater Miami. The position is primarily a clinical position related to the diagnosis treatment and clinical management of pediatric patients in a multidisciplinary environment that includes physicians nurses advanced practice providers clinical scientists and social workers. The position offers exposure to a mix of general and high acuity pediatric patients. The position also includes teaching and supervision of medical residents and provides opportunities to participate in research and publishing.
Job Specific Duties
- Applies knowledge of growth and development in customer interactions and treatment.
- Continues to actively selfeducate (i.e. reading journals CME credits NCH conferences etc..
- Coordinates and/or develops and delivers monthly inservices to meet staff and resident development needs.
- Coordinates followup of tests lab studies and patient followup phone calls.
- Directly provides clinical services to patients including but not limited to: performing and recording history and physical examinations recording and interpreting pertinent patient data developing and documenting a treatment plan writing routine orders for appropriate laboratory studies xrays and consultations performing patient/parent teaching assisting with patient followup performing appropriate screenings administering medications as required ordering and/or performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as indicated by patient findings.
- Makes suggestions to Department Director and/or attending staff that may be beneficial to the improvement of the department.
- Participates in Performance Improvement Research and Publishing.
- Participates in teaching of and is role model to medical students and residents.
- Participates in the call schedule as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (M.D. or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O. from an accredited medical school
- Current state medical license and in good standing with medical board
- American Heart Association BLS maintain active and in good standing throughout employment
