Job Description Summary

The College Achievement Program (CAP) sixweek Summer Bridge Program is designed to create an easy transition from high school to college for students attending Santa Fe College in Fall 2025. The program helps participants navigate college with confidence and supports students in becoming successful. Services offered by the program promote academic excellence.

The CAP Reading and Writing for College instructor will support students to develop their academic voice. This course meets virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays from July 1 2025 to August 7 2025. The instructor will also have offsite planning time in June 2025.

Job Description

Responsibilities and Duties Include:

• Creates an appropriate lesson plan for a noncredit course teaches students and provides feedback to the CAP Director on their progress.

• Complies with all published College Rules procedures guidelines and laws/regulations governing public employees including but not limited to those related to document retention and destruction FERPA and confidentiality.

• Strictly honors the privacy security and confidentiality of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state federal and college regulations policies and procedures.

• Provides service excellence through courteous informed accessible and professional engagement.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: A bachelors degree with two 2 years of experience in the subject area.

Preferred: A masters degree and evidence of competence in electronic communication technologies including distance learning technology and the knowledge needed to assist students in using these modalities.
