About the role:
Samsara is seeking a manager for the Manufacturing Design Engineering group to drive excellence at our manufacturing facilities. The MDE will work closely with hardware engineering hardware operations and other internal crossfunctional teams on the development launch and sustaining of our hardware products at our contract manufacturers. Ideal candidates will be adaptable approach unstructured problems with curiosity and support the continuous growth and improvement of the team.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US.

In this role you will:
- Lead a global technical operations team based in North America and Asia to develop and launch new hardware products
- Work with crossfunctional teams and JDM partners to develop manufacturing processes at the factory to drive line qualification manufacturing test metrics and rigorous validation plans for high volume production
- Collaborate with Engineering teams on systemlevel design for manufacturability identifying and mitigating process risks early in development
- Work with JDM partners on yield improvement and process troubleshooting drive issue failure analysis and corrective action
- Drive cycle time reduction through line balancing and process optimization to drive efficiency
- Develop and implement quality systems to ensure compliance to specifications
- Define and implement a datacollection process to enable traceability and drive data driven factory quality management

Minimum requirements for the role:
- 10 years of experience in high volume electronics industry
- 3 years managing teams
- Degree in electrical mechanical manufacturing engineering or equivalent
- Solid technical background in factory operation management manufacturing process engineering and supplier quality management
- Demonstrated ability to own Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA) Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) as well as 8D problem solving
- Experience with electronics design and assembly including CAD tolerance analysis and test engineering (power optical RF)
- Six sigma certification or proficiency in in statistical analysis software
- Ability to travel to manufacturing partners up to 15
- Ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams and drive independent work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
