Job Description
Overview:
The Power BI Developer plays a crucial role in converting raw data into meaningful insights by utilizing Power BI for reporting and analytics. This position is vital to helping organizations make datadriven decisions by providing interactive dashboards and reports. The Power BI Developer will collaborate closely with different departments to understand their reporting needs and translate them into effective visual representations of data. Additionally by ensuring the accuracy and accessibility of data this professional aids in the identification of trends and patterns that can lead to better strategic decisions. The role requires a balance of technical capabilities and communication skills making it essential for the individual to work well with crossfunctional teams. By effectively implementing and maintaining Power BI solutions the individual will contribute significantly to the organization s data culture and overall performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for data visualization.
- Implement Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) for complex calculations.
- Utilize Power Query for data cleansing and transformation.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity through rigorous testing.
- Maintain and optimize existing Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Train team members on Power BI capabilities and best practices.
- Document reporting processes data models and dashboards.
- Monitor and improve the performance of reports and dashboards.
- Create data models to support business intelligence reporting.
- Incorporate user feedback to enhance dashboard functionalities.
- Stay updated on Power BI features and industry trends.
- Assist in the development of data governance practices.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data security and access controls.
- Participate in requirement analysis and project planning sessions.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Power BI development role.
- Strong understanding of data visualization best practices.
- Proficient in SQL for querying data sources.
- Handson experience with DAX and Power Query.
- Experience with data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with large datasets and data modeling.
- Familiarity with other BI tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of cloud databases such as Azure or AWS is preferred.
- Certification in Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with Agile methodologies is advantageous.
- Proactive approach to problemsolving and troubleshooting.
