Job Description
Job Title: Software Engineer Intern
Location: Onsite Nairobi Kenya
Reporting to: Senior Software Engineer
About the Role:
Were looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join our team at Pawa IT Solutions in Nairobi. Youll help build and improve our cloud and AIbased products that help African businesses work better.
What Youll Do:
Write backend code using Python (FastAPI)
Support the setup and management of background tasks and message queues
Work with Docker containers
Use SSH for secure server access
Help build and improve AI features using Large Language Models (LLMs)
Requirements
What You Need:
Real coding experience. Please provide a portfolio of your recent works to support this.
Good general knowledge of the Python language and the FastAPI framework
General knowledge of frontend development (HTML CSS JavaScript)
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
Familiarity with Redis / RabbitMQ or similar technologies is a plus.
Knowledge of Git for code management

Willing to learn from mistakes
Education:
Relevant technical education such as BSc CS/IT/Engineering. Experience and good code will be highly regarded.
