This position will ensure the safe and responsible operation of the School of Art Fiber labs studios and classrooms to facilitate instruction and instructionally related activity and the research creative and scholarly activity of undergraduate students graduate students and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Experience repairing sewing knitting and other related machines. Knowledge of administration and budgeting skills. Ability to take directions and work independently. Basic computer skills for inventory and record keeping. Sewing machines knitting machines and other related machines. Knowledge of ScreenPrinting equipment Paper Making equipment and Rug Tufting guns. Knowledge of Manual and Digital Looms.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies procedures and guidelines including but not limited to safety civility information security and nondiscrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the universitys commitment to a vision of excellence.
Education and Experience
Equivalent to three years of experience providing instructional support services for visual arts or related discipline or repairing equipment related to the visual arts or related discipline required
Bachelors degree in art strongly preferred
MFA in Art preferred
Supervisory Experience preferred
Experience in working with contractors and trades including electricians plumbers carpenters maintenance staff etc. preferred
Experience with physical inventories and property tracking preferred
Physical Summary
Medium work Job involves lifting heavyweight objects 2040 pounds) and/or 20 40 of the job involves standing squatting kneeling or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education experience and qualifications the candidate brings to the position internal equity and the hiring departments fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $1152 $1999 per month.

Time Base
.25 timebase parttime 10 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
