The City of St. Johns Archives and Records Management division is currently seeking a focused organized individual to complete select short term projects in our Archives and Records Management Division.
Under the direction of the division manager the Archives Officer will complete project duties including processing and cataloguing of archival maps/drawings photo digitization meta data assignment data entry and conducting research when required.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work. High School Diploma
Some postsecondary education in a relevant field would be considered an asset
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word Excel Outlook)
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and strong attention to detail
Knowledge of Records Management software would be considered an asset
Other Requirements
Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Record Screening Certificate or equivalent
This position is funded by the Government of Canada Summer Jobs Program. Candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:
oBe aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
oHave a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
oBe a Canadian Citizen a permanent resident of Canada or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
