Description

Bestica is seeking an Advanced Instructor SME to provide services at BAMC in San Antonio TX.

Objective: Through the support services of JBAIDS/NGDS Instructors/SME (equivalent to GS040311 perform the duties and tasks of microbiology SMEs and Instructors for the JBAIDS/NGDS/CALS and related training programs. The contractor shall provide SME support to the Course Director and Program Manager develop and update any/all necessary instructional and technical support materials train students using a good learning environment and training techniques and provide general administration of the course in concert and coordination with Government instructors and according to criteria and guidance established by the AMEDDC&S and JBAIDS/NGDS/CALS Course Director.

Schedule: Work schedule is normally MF; however there may be times when it is necessary for the Contractor to work after duty hours in support of specific tasks. Although the schedule may have to be flexible it will not exceed 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in microbiology biochemistry or closely related field with 2 years of experience including performing polymerase chain reaction testing and protein detection (e.g. antigen or immunochemistry via ELISA or electro chemiluminescent method) is desired.
  • At least 1 year of teaching experience preferably including designing/developing instructional materials is needed. OR bachelors degree in microbiology biochemistry or closely related field with 4 years of experience and 1 year of teaching experience. (GS040311 equivalent)
  • Molecular biology laboratory skills and teaching skills are required (e.g. ability to communicate clearly and concisely explain complex procedures and concepts simply and clearly multitask etc.
  • Background or experience in biological defense or a military medical field such as medical laboratory preventive medicine food inspection or other field involving infectious diseases is strongly preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Analytical Devices (JBAIDS/NGDS/NGDS2/CALS) Training Course and Instructor Training Course (or equivalent) at the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) is required.
  • Able to stand and walk around classroom/laboratory for 2 hours continuously and intermittently for 8 hours. Able to individually lift and carry 40pound instrument 3 feet and lift 110 pound instrument with assistance.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Security clearance of SECRET is required.
