Description
The Mental Health Center is seeking a Senior Clinical Psychologist to join their team. This position will be responsible for administering psychological evaluations to the clients we serve in Hennepin County. Fluency in Spanish and/or Somali is desired.
The Mental Health Center (MHC) is a statelicensed outpatient clinic dedicated to offering wideranging mental health care. Our team of support and provider professionals provides comprehensive outpatient mental health services to adults with serious mental illness as well as those with cooccurring substance use disorders. Additionally the Mental Health Center serves children adolescents and families many of whom are involved with other county programs. Our progress toward CCBHC certification allows us to advance our goals of service excellence and the provision of personalized coordinated equitable care for persons we serve. Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both onsite at the Mental Health Center located at the South Hennepin County Human Service Center 2215 East Lake Street Minneapolis MN 55407 and remotely via telemedicine as job duties require. Staff are required to come onsite for work meetings trainings or for any other reasons that their supervisor or the Mental Health Center leadership may deem necessary (this may include onboarding and new employee training). As much advance notice as practicable will be provided regarding the need to work onsite. Typical work hours are 8 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday; some early evening hours are also possible. No weekend overnight or holiday shifts are required. While this position is designated as hybrid based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefitearning employees is inperson in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

In this position you will:- Conduct evaluations focused on intellectual and adaptive functioning for children and/or adults suspected of a developmental disability.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments including presenting problems psychosocial history and psychiatric diagnoses to assess a clients mental health functioning to develop treatment recommendations and treatment goals and plans.
- Record notes pertaining to client progress and attendance.
- Utilize case histories interviews behavioral observations and psychological test results to compose thorough psychological reports detailing clients histories diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Write comprehensive psychological reports of clients histories diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Communicate information in psychological reports to appropriate agencies and individuals for example courts health care providers and family members.
- Provide informal and formal consultation on diagnosis treatment and other psychological issues to other mental health professionals government agencies community organization and/or schools.
Need to have:- A doctoral degree in psychology from an APAaccredited program with appropriate clinical training and one or more years of postdoctoral experience as a clinical psychologist in a medical or mental health setting.
- Licensed psychologist by the Minnesota Board of Psychology.
Nice to have:- Two or more years of independent unsupervised experience performing comprehensive psychological evaluations that involve psychological testing.
- Experience:
- Administering and interpreting comprehensive psychological evaluations to individuals with mental illness complex trauma substance use and behavioral disorders and/or developmental delays.
- Working with Epic or other electronic health record systems.
- Knowledge of early developmental needs healthy attachment and healthy parenting practices.
