Job Description
Capital Ones Cyber Governance and Risk (G&R) program is seeking a Director to lead a team within G&Rs Payment Card Industry (PCI) team. As a Director whos responsible for G&Rs overall PCI strategy you will apply your leadership project management and analytical skills to our highest profile cardholder data security and compliance initiatives. You will lead a team of associates responsible for working across the enterprise to develop and implement cutting edge solutions to ensure Capital One Cybers continued stability and success. You will partner with other leads and teams across Cyber to identify synergies between PCI strategy data protection strategy and multiple remediation work streams in an open collaborative environment where new ideas and solutions are both welcomed and rewarded.
PCI team leads are highly motivated with excellent project management and communication skills. They have a high level of exposure across Cyber and the lines of business and are given the opportunity to work with executives to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. The ideal candidate is resourceful analytical selfmotivated and has great attention to detail.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional with excellent cyber bestpractices project and process management and communication skills. The candidate will be detailoriented results focused with a collaborative approach and will have a proven record of managing high profile PCIrelated projects. The candidate will also be an experienced people leader with the ability to motivate grow and effectively leverage a team of PCI advisors and consultants. In addition to their PCI acumen the successful candidate will be highly organized and process focused who will enable continued delivery on Capital Ones PCI compliance journey.
Essential Responsibilities:
Drive development of PCIenablement strategy tied to the requirements in the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 4.0.1
Spearhead strategic initiatives and associated communication and awareness to Cyber leadership other partners and stakeholders
Ensure strategy for safeguarding cardholder data and sensitive authentication data meets the requirements of the PCI DSS
Identify PCI controls and monitoring needed for the Enterprise and assist lines of business in drafting and implementing controls as necessary
Stay up to date on material developments in PCI policies
Develop an effective engagement model between Cyber and PCI stakeholders to ensure consistency with the Enterprise
Support innovation through process improvements automation and using proven project management principles to achieve results
Develop lasting partnerships with various enterprise teams to include collaborating on developing compliancebydesign strategies while balancing risk business objectives and business impact.
Stay current with architecture and technology developments and competitive trends and use this knowledge to identify and propose creative security and compliance strategies to the enterprise.
Promote awareness and training of PCI principles requirements and security best practices.
Manage a team of PCI advisors and analysts to support the PCI Program specifically remediation efforts and Enterprisewide initiatives that will further the Program.
Create executiveready presentations and materials
Basic Qualifications:
At least 8 years of experience communicating with technologists and all levels of management
At least 7 years of experience in evaluating enterprise risk or compliance
At least 4 years of experience with technical IT controls
At least 4 years of experience in an IT security or compliance consulting role
At least 4 years of experience working with regulators or internal auditors and with regulatory requirements
At least 4 years of technical integration experience
At least 3 years experience managing a technical organization
Preferred Qualifications:
PCIP or ISA certification
CISSP certification
PMP certification
2 years experience working in the financial services industry
2 years of experience utilizing GRC solutions
2 years of experience with cloudbased environments

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean VA: $226000 $257900 for Director Cyber Risk & AnalysisCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
