Summary of Job Duties:
This nontenuretrack Instructor 9month position includes teaching in developmental firstyear and intermediate composition contributing to curricula and assessment and to departmental college and university service. This position may include teaching facetoface and/or online. Employees are expected to work positively with faculty staff students and the community. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience
Masters degree in Rhetoric and Composition Writing Studies Technical Communication Public Administration English or other related discipline
Preferred Education & Experience
Prior composition teaching experience with an emphasis on firstyear students
Experience teaching diverse populations of students
Organizational written and oral communication skills
Professional writing experience
Online or hybrid experience
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Teach inperson and possibly online
Work positively with faculty staff students and the community
Participate in department university and community service including service on the departments Composition Committee helping with assessment and professional development
Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Teaching experience in a college setting
Ability to teach composition courses facetoface and online
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a respect for diversity and a commitment to student retention and success.
