Position Description:

Clinical Psychologist Child and Adolescent

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) invites applications for a fulltime faculty position at the assistant professor level. Join a growing academic psychiatry department/division and a rich group practice in Southeastern Wisconsin with a multidisciplinary team that includes academic psychiatrists nurses nurse practitioners psychologists and other ancillary staff. Opportunities currently available include outpatient psychiatric care within our community division.

Position Highlights

The Assistant Professor of Child Psychology (child psychologist) is an academic position that requires a combination of patient care teaching research and administrative activities necessary for the function of the department/division.

Position Expectations

  • Provide evidencebased psychological care assessment and consultation to patients seen in Child and Adolescent Division of the Psychiatry Department at affiliated clinical sites.
  • Develop and lead in design and implementation of evidencebased practice within specialty psychology populations in collaboration with existing faculty. This should include neurodiverse and poor selfmanagement behavioral populations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the clinical outcomes of those services working with leadership to ensure appropriate changes in clinical care delivery ensuring the best for our patients.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to integrate psychological care into overall treatment plans.
  • Provide training and supervision of fellows residents post docs affiliated professional staff and medical students as appropriate given the area of expertise.
  • Engage in educational efforts including didactics and other forms of teaching with fellows residents post docs affiliated professional staff and medical students as appropriate given the areas of expertise.
  • Participate in scholarly activities including research as an ongoing component of advancing the field.
  • Provide service as appropriate within the division department affiliate and MCW.

Position Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Active license to practice psychology or license eligible in Wisconsin
  • Specialized experience in psychological care of children and adolescents with a wide diversity of mental health and medical diagnoses
  • Strong assessment diagnostic and therapeutic skills
  • Interest in pursuing a career in academics to include teaching and research
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
