Your role will be to provide leadership and you will be accountable for the hospital outside business hours. This role promotes the mission and values of SJGHC in the management of caregivers the hospital environment and when supervising clinical care and service delivery for our customers. It accepts the responsibility of the delegation of authority for the administration of the Hospital during the absence of the Chief Executive Officer/Director of Nursing.
We have two opportunities available:
Position 1 Permanent Full time Sat Sun Mon and Tues nights
Position 2 Permanent Part Time Wednesday Thursday and Friday nights
The Position
Ensures that care is delivered according to current best practice and National Mental Health Standards.
Oversees and when required assists caregivers in the planning implementation and evaluation of the patient care plans and treatment goals.
Accepts responsibility for allocated patient load.
Provides supervision of caregivers in their allocated patient load as required.
Accepts accountability for professional conduct of self and others to ensure care is delivered within caregivers scope of practice and aligned with the mission and values of SJOGHC.
Ensures that nursing interventions and the associated patient responses are clearly documented in the patient notes.
Monitor evaluate and report on the professional performance of ward personnel and assists with the competency testing of clinical staff as directed by Nurse Unit Manager.
Supports Nurse Unit Managers in their role of managing wards and ensuring consistency in care delivery.
You will have a registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and minimum 5 years working experience as a psychiatric nurse. Post graduate qualifications in administration/management is desirable.
To succeed you will have welldeveloped leadership and communication skills including negotiation and mediation conflict resolution and problem solving and broad range of clinical knowledge and experience especially in the areas of psychiatry and drug & alcohol.

We will offer you
Salary: $120326 to $126056(pro rata for part time) plus 11.5 superannuation
